Hockey Season is a Wrap ... for now

I love the title, “Hockey Mom”. I wear many titles and this title is one of my absolute favorite titles. I have tried to figure out why I love it so much. My other titles are, business owner, paralegal, speaker, writer, cosplay and more. A few years ago we finally moved Anderson from being in roller hockey to ice. Once this decision was made the title, Hockey Mom arrived. The sport of ice hockey is fast, rough and invigorating. I do want the kids teams to win but for me it’s not about the win. Even thinking about it as one of our best hockey years was last year and we didn’t win much all year. What I have won in this title is community. The hockey families are together for a long season compared to many other sports and as a result we spend pretty much every weekend with our hockey families. I have enjoyed making real friendships with other mothers and being part of this community.

So I say goodbye to our long season and hello to the short two month season of high school hockey.

My kiddo is #33 … I love that he is only 12 years old and the playing with 13, 14, 15 year olds.
