I love the joke,
There was a guy who prayed to God daily, 'Pleeeeease let me win the lotto". And he would not win. He would repeat this over and over, day after day. Finally, he asked God, 'Why have I not won the lotto?' God said, ' You have to help me out and at least buy a ticket.'
It is easy to ask God for things but God provides abundantly when you are in motion. Lately, I have been working really hard to create a year of breast cancer mammogram events. My work has partnered with Exempla St. Joseph Mammogram bus for a day to provide free mammograms to the public. Now my job is to get the public there to be screened, two boobies at a time! Sometimes it feels like this is all you can do when your family is dealing with the dreaded breast cancer disease themselves. The journey is rough, scary and down right unpredictable. This situation feels similar to when I was in the middle of separating my conjoined twins. The unknown is rough. But if having conjoined twins taught me one life lesson, God performs miracles through people in action. I feel like I am buying my lotto ticket by establishing breast cancer screening events so I pray dutifully for two breast cancer miracles right about now.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 2 Corinthians 4:17
If you want to come get your boobies screened on February 23, 2013 between 9:00 AM and 4:00 pm visit the Royal Image Boutique in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
