Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in motherhood, health, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Tornado of a new year

We have flown through the first month of the year and so many wonderful things have happened.  The girls are headed to high school this fall.  Yes, I just said that.  So we have applied to two schools and it has been a whirlwind of emotion and excitement.  The girls have been in the same school since kindergarten so this new school feels like a huge change.  After applying to a smaller Christian school, after all the individual and family interviews, the girls received wonderful news that they were accepted.  In the meantime during the application process, we still needed to apply to the feeder school to lock in their classes just in case the Christian school does not pan out. It is difficult to figure out the next level classes as our current school teaches a year ahead in many subjects and they girls are nine years into Spanish classes.  But when all is said and done, they are enrolled in both schools and we wait.

Watching the girls prepare for high school has been emotional.  I am not an emotionally based person but knowing we are on the downhill side of them living with us, it feels sad. I am very excited for them and to see what dreams they plan to pursue.  One wants to be a Lt. Criminologist for a huge police department and the other wants to enter the marines and become a sniper.  I guess we wait to see what passions really come out.

What a blessing that we do have these kinds of choices and opportunities. What a true blessing.

So will the girls be Eagles or Wolverines?
