Throwback Anime Con
Every kid finds their sport - for my daughters I tried everything I could think of to get them active and involved. From ballet, jazz, tap, swimming, soccer, Young marines, cheerleading, drums, piano, ninjitsu and I am sure more. My daughters have found a niche in the anime world - they both have OC (original characters) along with a viable art business of drawing and water color painting. As a highlight of being this this world, we attend 'cons'. The first con for me was like a fish out of water experience so I vowed if we did it again I would dive in head first to learn how to be a mom participant. I attached myself to the organizers, panelists and actively engaged. So when the next Con came about I researched my character that I would dress up as - I just saw my first Star Trek and fell in love with Jaylah. She rocked and was everything at the time I was not. I watched YouTube videos and even did a dry run on make up application. When Con weekend came, I was ready and spent three hours transforming into Jaylah. Now I love Halloween and so I liken this process to Halloween so instinctively this worked for me.
Goal:
After the three solid days of the Con - I realized something even more important than my physical transformation - I bonded in my daughter's 'sport'. We share so many memories from our con girls weekend and many new sayings/phrases that are used daily. I loved being part of their twin world which is sometimes hard to crack into. God gives me life lessons through times that I was not expecting them.
